Job Description

Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for coordinating the selection of various mold steel materials, heat treatment processes, processing techniques, and assembly and debugging for the outsourced molds.
  2. Be responsible for the maintenance, repair and life management of molds.
  3. Responsible for the entire cycle tracking of mold development: Review DFM reports, conduct supplier audits, control costs, track trial mold issues until mass production.
  4. Be responsible for communication with customers, suppliers, and the production department, support international team collaboration, and resolve technical disputes related to injection molding (such as OEM special requirements).
  5. Utilize various lean tools (such as SMED rapid process reconfiguration, TPM), promote process optimization and cost reduction, and identify improvement points through data analysis (such as OEE, scrap rate).
  6. Process debugging: Injection molding parameters (temperature, pressure, speed), optimizing various defects in the injection molding process.
  7. Other related tasks assigned by the leader.

Job requirements

  1. Education and Majors Education: College degree or above is generally required.
  2. Majors: mold design and manufacturing, mechanical engineering, polymer materials, mechatronics and other related fields.
  3. Fluent in English (written and spoken) .
  4. Work experience 8~10 years of experience, with complex injection mold development or project management experience.
  5. Master Catia/UG/AutoCAD and other design software.
  6. Familiar with mold design: familiar with parting line, slider/inclined top mechanism, gating system (hot runner/cold runner), cooling system design, venting system, etc., and be able to guide the optimization design of mold.
  7. Material knowledge: familiar with the characteristics of engineering plastics (PP, ABS, PC, PA GF, etc.) and their impact on the life of the mold.
  8. Proficient in using Moldflow for filling, cooling, and warpage prediction, and able to interpret and analyze relevant reports.
  9. Risk identification and escalation mechanism processing capacity.
  10. Strong Hands-on mentality to drive processes independently.
  11. National travel must be included. During the development the candidate will have to spend time at the tool supplier.
